Overview
Currently there are over 552 electric vehicles on local roads, up from 74
in end 2010 and 242 in end 2011. We are installing charging facilities for electric vehicles in government car parks as planned. Along with the related facilities provided by the business and non-government sectors, there are about 1000 charging points in Hong Kongnow.Besides the standard charging facilities, Hong Kong now has ten quick chargers set up at Eastern, Southern, Central and Western, Yau Tsim Mong, Kwun Tong, Sha Tin, North, Yuen Long and Islands Districts. There is one quick charger within around 20 kilometres.

CLP Power Hong Kong Limited
CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) is the Hong Kong utility subsidiary wholly owned by CLP Holdings Limited, a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and one of the largest investor-owned power businesses in Asia. CLP Power operates a vertically integrated electricity supply business in Hong Kong, and provides a highly reliable supply of electricity and excellent customer services to more than six million people in its supply area.
CLP Power plays the role of orchestrator in the local electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem by promoting the wider adoption of EVs in Hong Kong, supporting the Hong Kong SAR Government’s goal of achieving zero vehicular emissions by 2050. Leveraging our power expertise, CLP Power has implemented several initiatives.
The eMobility Network was formed by CLP Power and 15 other companies including ECV manufacturers and operators, charging service providers, and a bank offering green finance services in 2023 to provide a cross-sector platform for knowledge and technology exchange.
With a well-planned power grid, CLP Power is ahead of the curve in supporting EV infrastructure by introducing innovative power supply solutions tailored to Hong Kong’s unique environment. We offer various power supply solutions for mega EV fast charging hubs, helping customers shorten construction time and reduce costs. CLP Power also collaborates with petrol station operators to convert Petrol Filling Stations (PFS) to EV quick charging stations and retrofit existing PFS.
To support the expansion of the EV charging network, CLP Power developed the eMobility Grid Management Platform (eGMP). The platform analyses the usage rate and pattern of charging stations in different locations by integrating the data of EV charging, thereby optimising grid planning and resource allocation.
CLP Power is committed to promoting green transportation and fostering a sustainable, low-carbon future for Hong Kong through various initiatives and partnerships.
